Meet The New Guy
Right, how the hell do I start this…….
I’ve never been very good at writing about or ‘bigging’ myself up, but let’s give it a shot…..
Some people are good with their hands (I mean manual labour, just for the dirty minded), let’s just say I am definitely not one of those people. Truthfully the only thing I have ever been good at is exercise, sports, basically anything fitness related. So when it came to the age of 21, I decided it was time to quit trying to be someone I’m not, working in manual labour jobs. It was time to move into what I do best, a career that is me, something that I would find rewarding and wake up every day motivated.
Needless to say I moved into the fitness Industry and just over 2 years later (as some of you already know) I now work full time as a Personal Trainer here at Clear Fitness.
The most exciting part of the job for me is getting results. Let’s be honest that’s the main reason I have this fantastic job. Whether it’s weight loss, increase in muscle mass, or the most underrated of all…..confidence! Seeing a client walk out the studio feeling 10 feet tall, knowing they are becoming a better version of themselves…nothing quite beats that!
I believe the only way to get lasting results is consistency. By that I mean finding a workout routine and diet plan that you can sustain, one that is personalised to you and your lifestyle. The best way to achieve that is to find a form of exercise you enjoy! Too many people force themselves to do exercise they hate, find jogging boring? Don’t do it! There’s so many different forms of exercise out there that are more fun and more efficient at burning calories. Please don’t spend your time hating exercise, it really can be FUN!
As far as diet is concerned I have a simple formula… Eat healthy whole foods 80% of the time, allow for foods you enjoy and track your calories. No need for any outrageous fad diet, that pretty much tell you to eliminate everything single food you actually enjoy.
What does the future hold? I never want to stop learning!! I consistently push myself to learn more every week, whether that be through reading books, blogs, studies or attending courses. I have a personal goal to do more to reach out to more people, to educate them and have a positive impact on making Newcastle a healthier place.
I also want to start running bootcamps (group training) and continue to create a community of like-minded, hard-working and motivated people that Clear fitness is already know for.
The future is exciting and there’s no limits to what I can achieve but my main priority is to be happy and make others feel the same!
